Track History
Pala Raceway is a 240 acre motor sports complex in Southern California on the land of Pala Band of Mission Indians. Pala Raceway is being developed as a modern motocross raceway and currently has six motocross tracks for different skill levels and many other amenities, including an onsite retail location managed by San Diego’s House of Motorcycles, private race garages, the DC MotoTF training facility and the AFMXA Freestyle compound.
Pala Raceway’s management group is made up of business professionals who are are all passionate about the sport of motocross and ride on a regular basis. This allows Pala Raceway the ability to push new directions in meeting environmental goals, safety goals, and overall growth of the sport of motocross. In conjunction with the Pala Band of Mission Indians, the Pala Casino Spa Resort, and major corporate sponsors Pala Raceway has been able to turn an old rock quarry into a premiere motocross raceway in a short amount of time.
The current development phases have were expedited to participate in the 2010 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championships, and a dynamic race track was built. The Pala National track features over 130′ of elevation change from the bottom of the track down near the start to the top of the up hill. It will also feature Pala Raceway’s popular sifted loamy soil that is a Southern California rarity. Pala Raceway’s location in the San Luis Rey River valley less than 25 miles from the Pacific Ocean allows for great year around temperatures and cool ocean breezes in the afternoon during the summer months.
